Welcome to Sunshine Lane Building. We are a family owned and run business located on the beautiful shores of Saint Clair in Dunedin, New Zealand.
When you work with Sunshine Lane Building you will be working directly with the founders and owners, Alistair and Sarah Quinn, plus a team of qualified and licensed carpenters who are highly skilled and motivated.
We are a one-stop building company who can help you with everything from design and project management to interior designing and colour selection.

MEET ALISTAIR
- Founder, Director + Foreman
Alistair studied at the University of Otago and graduated with a Bachelor of Surveying. This allowed him to follow his dream of becoming an Engineering Surveyor working on major construction projects around the Globe.
After 3 years working on the London 2012 Olympics and 6 years working on large scale projects in the resource sector in Australia, Alistair made the move back to Dunedin with his wife Sarah and their young family.
The lack of large construction projects in Dunedin accompanied by Alistair's dream of being a residential builder, prompted him to switch careers. A move that he is relishing and a career that he loves.
Alistair began his building career by working with one of the best premier architectural building firms in Dunedin. Whilst working here he was able to work with, and learn from a wide range of highly skilled builders well known for constructing high end architectural homes and light commercial work. From here, Alistair went on to become a qualified building practitioner and made the move to go out on his own to start Sunshine Lane Building and as they say - the rest is history.
Alistair's management and technological skills from his previous career in commercial construction, combined with his passion and flair and aesthetic importance of residential construction makes Sunshine Lane Building an exciting and unique firm to work with.
